Be Ready
for any threat or
attack from the enemy
Getting our homes, businesses, and market-places ready for a terrorist attack is a critical concern today.
Terrorists are at war with us, and they do not fight with conventional methods.
They hide, they sneak, they will even die to
accomplish their mission. Terrorists use all kinds of dangerous weapons. But their most lethal weapons are bombs and weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
In the event of a terrorist attack everyone should:
- Have an emergency plan,
- Always be alert, and
- Report any suspicious activities to the
authorities.
The Bible tells us that the devil is also our
enemy and he is at war with us. We are to be self-controlled and alert because he prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. We are to resist him (1 Peter 5:8, 9).
The devil’s strongest weapon is clearly the uncertainty—the fear and unrest—that we
allow him to plant in our hearts.
In preparing a checklist against the
enemy, be sure you know the following:
God’s security will always protect you.
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you (Deuteronomy 33:27).
God never rejects you
Come near to God and He will come near to you...For the Lord will not reject His people; He will never forsake His inheritance (James 4:8; Psalm 94:14).
-
God listens to you.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them (Psalm 145:18–19).
Would you like to be ready for any threat or attack from your enemy? Here’s how:
Recognize the Real Threat:
There is no one righteous, not even one...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:10, 23).
Understand the Solution:
Righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who beleive (Romans 3:22).
Accept His Salvation:
Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God (1 Peter 3:18).
You can pray a prayer something like this:
Dear God, We live in uncertain times, and fear is all
around us. I know that I am a sinner, and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for my sins and that He rose from the dead. I now place my trust in Jesus as my Savior. Amen.
